Maku Azu is a Ghanaian artist currently based between Accra and Paris. After studying International Business Management, she made a drastic decision to follow the path truest to herself. She is passionate about expressing poignant psychological states in her work.
With use of her foundry in Thailand where she has lived for over a decade with her partner, Maku as a multidisciplinary artist is additionally a sculptor. She enjoys creating sculptural self-portraits incorporating sensually engaging, organic, semi abstracted forms within the bodies in resin and bronze.
With every piece she creates, she hopes to inspire a private and sacred space, where she connects with each viewer mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Serving as a mirror to our truest selves.
